Sonsoo
Privacy policy
Effective 5 July 2026
Sonsoo is a small, hand-built audiobook library. This page describes what information it keeps and why. The short version: only what an invitation-only library needs to run. Nothing is sold, shared for advertising, or used to track you across the web.
What we keep
- Waitlist: your email address, an optional name, and which page you signed up from, used only to send an invitation when a place opens. There is no newsletter.
- Member account: your email address, used for sign-in links, invitations, and account matters.
- Listening activity: which book and chapter you are on and simple playback markers (play, pause, position), so audio resumes where you left off and we can see, in aggregate, how the library is used.
- Things you create: bookmarks, highlights, and notes, stored so they follow you between devices. They are visible only to your account.
What we don't do
No advertising, no selling or sharing data with brokers, and no tracking cookies. The public pages count visits with a cookieless analytics service that stores no personal information and doesn't follow you across the web; it is not loaded inside the member library. Your sign-in session is kept in your browser's local storage and is used only to keep you signed in.
Services that process data
Sonsoo runs on a small number of infrastructure providers that process data on its behalf: hosting, the account database, audio delivery, email delivery, protecting the forms from bots, and error reports (configured to exclude personal information). Each handles only what its role requires. Email security@surenki.com if you would like the current list of providers.
Removing your data
Email security@surenki.com to be taken off the waitlist, or to delete your account and everything attached to it.
Changes
If these practices change, this page changes with them; the date above is the latest revision. Questions are welcome at security@surenki.com.
