Larson, Duke of Mongolia
A Mongol prince and long-time friend of Larson, with a comfortable residence five miles west of Urga. He is Лувсанжанцан бэйс — the same noble Roy Chapman Andrews calls "Duke Loobitsan Yangsen" in Across Mongolian Plains.

Across Mongolian PlainsRoy Chapman Andrews
An influential Mongol noble and friend of the expedition, who kept a Russian-style mansion at Urga and welcomed foreigners. With Larsen he represented the Hutukhtu at the capital, and he gave Andrews the letter of introduction to the hunter Tserin Dorchy. "Бэйс" (beise) was his Qing-era princely rank.
